A review on the BBC America page for Sherlock Season 2

Seriously? Did this person even see Season 1? Having homosexual undertones isn’t a reason to give something a low rating, nor is being ‘too dark’, since Sherlock is known not only as a suspense piece, but as a drama. I’m not sure if this a troll or not, but since it has lowered the rating a little, does anyone want to go on and leave a fair review so Sherlock gets the full five stars it deserves?

“HE IS NOT ONE OF US”

I told you I could picture it, and well, here it is. Sadly I think this is the best piece of fanart I’ve ever drawn.

Don’t be hating, but…

Right, so for the record, this is the 1,000th time I have seen a viral post floating around getting all giant-squid-of-anger about some candid photograph with Martin’s kids. And I would be totally 100% behind it, because God knows that should never be reblogged, except that I have still not ever seen this picture and I’m starting to doubt that it exists.

It’s not that I WANT to see it, because all the sentiment behind those posts is totally true; however, since the ratio of times this campaign against the photograph has shown up on my dash versus times the photograph is shown up on my dash is SEVERAL DOZEN TO ZERO, I can’t help but wondering if maybe at this point, it’s a bit of an overreaction. Obviously there are MAYBE one or two jerks out there who see nothing wrong with it, but I think for the most part the sane people have conquered this issue.

It’s terrible that such a thing got out in the first place, I agree, but people the fires are extinguished now. At this point all the talk ABOUT the photograph has made me so curious, I’m tempted to seek it out just to see what all the fuss is about. I won’t, but I can’t account for all the others who, like me, only know about the photograph because of this campaign. At this point, the “awareness” may be doing more harm than good. Just let it die now.

I understand this sentiment (I really do) which is the reason why I don’t reblog the photograph to point out it is up again. But just to let you know, if you can trust me…it does exist and it is out there.

The reason why you probably haven’t seen the photograph is because the blogs you follow are not going to reblog that photograph to respect Amanda’s wishes, thus explaining why you only see the campaign (which means you follow some pretty cool people!).

The campaign exists because most of the time the people who post the photo…have disabled ask boxes. So, even if they don’t know the history of the photo and put it up by accident, there’s no way for any of us to inform them and no one wants to reblog the photo either to let them know. If they have disabled ask boxes…just call me cynical, but I think they’ve done it on purpose exactly because they know they shouldn’t be posting it. So posting the campaign information about it is usually the ONLY WAY we can get these people’s attention.

The only reason why I kick up a fuss as much as I do is that every time it resurfaces, it ends up with at least 400+ notes…which means it is still spreading a lot. I’m sure a good chunk of people don’t know about the photo’s history, but there seems to be a lot of people who don’t care about the request that it come down and continue to post it.

But thankfully you are correct that most of the time, most people are decent and take it down. Or if they see it, they unfollow that blog if they see it posted. I know I have.

I wish there was a better solution to keeping the photograph off tumblr, but there simply isn’t.

I can also vouch that it’s still out there! The last time it showed up, I went through the notes and tried to contact as many people as I could, explained the situation, and asked if they could take it down. Most people had no idea and were awesome about removing it right away, and even seemed thankful that somebody told them about it. When the picture first came out, I’d reblogged it unknowingly myself, and I’m still grateful to whoever brought it to my attention. If we can sit here talking on our blogs about how much we love these actors, then we can show them some well-deserved respect by not spreading photos of their kids.
